Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born April 26, 1991 often referred to professionally under the other name Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the debut female to sign for J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her debut EP Pho, released was released on the 21st of October, 2016 and was released by Dreamville Records. She began to gain recognition. Shea Butter Baby released her first album of studio work on 7 May 2019. Ari Lennox began uploading her tracks to the Internet in 2012 when she launched her mixtape debut Five Finger Discount, and her debut EP Ariography in 2013. The year 2014 saw Ari Lennox continued uploading her music on the internet, including her self-released single Bound. In the year 2015, she performed on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on July 21st. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville team at the time was interested in having her work on Rihanna references. The announcement of her decision to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on the 8th of December. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II which she was featured on, she sang the track Backseat alongside Cozz. She released Pho, her debut EP, on the 21st of October in 2016. Ari Lennox was a guest on J. Cole's Change and also performed on The 4 Your Eyez Only Tour as the opening act. She also appeared in 2018 on two tracks with her labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. Also, she appeared on Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first track Whipped Cream off of Shea Butter Baby on July 16th. A music video followed then followed by a short video in September. Then on the 9th November the singer released two more singles, titled 40 Shades of Choke (and Grampa). She then released on the 13th of November two singles called The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released on her debut single, February 26, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole on her Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. In February of 2019 the video music for this track debuted. It has had over 3 million YouTube views in just one week. She was part of the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour at the end of December 2018.
